The McGriff and Chester Pruitt centers for Okaloosa County Head Start will be closed until November 9, 2020 due to COVID-19 exposures.  We thank you for your patience and support.

Starting 8/31/2020,

Meals will be dispersed

according to the schedule below:

OCHS Meal Pick Up Times and Locations:

McGriff Center 8:00-8:45am, M-F

Niceville Center 8:45-9:15am, M-F

Edney Center 8:00-8:45am, M-F

Kennedy Center 8:30-8:45am, M-F*

Laurel Hill Center 9:30-9:45am, M-F

Bay Street Center 8:00-8:15am, M-F

*Infant foods and diapers will be dispersed at the Kennedy site

on Mondays only and will be enough for one week*

New Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) hours are 8:00am-11:00am beginning 11/3/2020.



The program’s resources are designed to foster stable family relationships, enhance children’s physical and emotional well-being and establish an environment to develop strong cognitive skills.


Head Start is a program that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income children and their families.
